Alongside September and October, May is the most popular month to visit Italy. Average temperature in the more southern Florence is 24C with surrounding Tuscany, a popular destination for villa lovers, averaging 23C in May. Temperatures are similar for a trip to the stunning Amalfi coast perhaps to relax in a villa in Sorrento or to visit the haunting, historical sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Croatia

Croatia has really opened up to tourism in the last few years. It features popular historic towns like Split and Dubrovnik. The coast line and Dalmatian Islands are renowned for their beauty.
